Castor Oil
Castor oil has a wide variety of uses across the industrial and technical sectors including lubricants, two stroke oil, hydraulic and brake fluids, paints, dyes, coatings, inks, waxes and polishes. It is also used as a bio-based polyol in the polyurethane industry. Castor oil can be supplied in a range of grades depending on the application area and desired properties.
Castor Derivatives
Castor oil is the direct feed stock for the production of derivatives. These are used in the textile industry, paper, plastics and rubber, paints, inks, adhesives and lubricants. The derivatives produced are HCO (hydrogenated castor oil), 12HSA (12 hydroxystearic acid), methyl 12HSA, sebacic acid, HCO low nickel powder and ricinoleic acid.
Coconut Refined Oil
Used in industry for further synthesis of medium chain triglyceride (MCTs). The MCTs then go on into other industries due to their ability to carry products which are usually insoluble in other fats and oils.
Fish Oil
A unique fatty acid profile makes this oil ideal for use in a range of industrial applications, from alkyd varnishes and mixtures in paints to metal working fluids and more. We can supply in IBC’s and drums.
Linseed Oil
Sometimes referred to as flaxseed or flax oil this is a drying oil. With this key property it is often used in resins, solvents, varnishes, wood finishing products and in oil based paints as a pigment binder.
Mixed Soft Acid Oil (MSAO)
A blend of several vegetable oils, MSAO is formed by adding the soap stock from virgin vegetable oil production producing a high-nutrient, high-oil content and high-energy content fatty acid. For industrial uses of crude fatty acids, such as drilling muds for off-shore oil drilling.
Palm Kernel Refined Oil
As with coconut oil this is the only other commercially viable oil for use in the production of medium chain triglycerides.
Pine Oil
Most commonly used in household cleaning products. This oil will give the pine smell but also has disinfectant properties.
Rapeseed Oil
The third largest source of vegetable oil in the world. Its most common use is in biodiesel. It also has uses in the production of lubricants, greases and paints.
Soya Oil
Often used in the production of alkyd resins which then go into flooring, printing inks and wood coatings.
Sunflower Refined Oil
Although most commonly associated with cooking this oil also has an industrial application in the production of oil based paint.
Tall Oil Fatty Acid (TOFA)
This by-product has a wide range of industrial applications in adhesives, rubbers and inks. It has applications in the production of cement and asphalt and can also be used as a vegetarian alternative to tallow in soaps and lubricants.
Wood (Tung) Oil
A traditional drying oil used in the treatment of wood. Upon exposure to air it dries hard with a ‘wet look’ finish that is waterproof.
